Grandma’s Chocolate Pie


Let your nostalgia run wild with this simple and delicious chocolate pie that will most likely bring back memories of your grandma’s baking.
Simple and easy ! My whole family loves this recipe so much. If it were for them, I’d be making this every day! Give it a shot, you’ll love it!To Make this Recipe You’ Will Need the following ingredients:



– 1/2 cup of cocoa

– 1/4 cup of cornstarch or arrowroot powder (You can also use 1/2 cup all purpose flour)


– 3 egg yolks

– 1 to 1/2 cup of sugar

– 1/4 teaspoon of salt

– 2 cup of milk

– 1 teaspoon of vanilla

– 9 pre-baked pie shell




STEP 1 :

In a pot over med-high heat, mix together cocoa, cornstarch, beaten egg yolks, sugar and salt, then add milk gradually while stirring. And please cook until thick, beating it smooth.

STEP 2 :

Make sure to stir and stir for 10 to 15 minutes, as cream pies take some time to thicken.

STEP 3 :

It’s wise to use a heavy bottom pan to help it thickens.

STEP 4 :

Once done, pour into a pre-baked pie shell and put in the fridge to chill, add whipped cream if you like. Otherwise, you may want to use the left over egg whites for a meringue topping!
